About Us

Welcome to Baby and Co.

Just two years after Baby&Co opened its doors in an old warehouse on a gritty corner in downtown Seattle, Mademoiselle magazine named it one of the 100 best boutiques in the U.S.

That was 1978. And Baby&Co has attracted attention ever since.

The brainchild of Baby and Uri Burstyn, Baby&Co has always been a place that encourages experimentation, imagination and whatever else it takes for customers to express their own personal style. Once considered quirky and eclectic, the store has evolved to become an indisputable icon of local fashion.

Credit for that honor goes to Baby and her staff who choose the store’s collections based on their own intuition and eye for beauty rather than the latest trends. That approach allowed Baby&Co to boldly carry unconventional lines like Kenzo and Castelbajac in the late ‘70s, and Girbaud in the early ‘80s, well before they became wildly popular.

Now in its fourth decade, Baby&Co continues to offer fresh, exciting and unique collections that adhere to an “everyday runway” aesthetic. Current owners Jill and Wayne Donnelly (Jill has worked as store manager and buyer for 22 years) use the streets of Paris, Copenhagen and other fashion capitals as their inspiration and scout the globe for trailblazing designers whose commitment to quality and creativity match their own.

“Live in the moment and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.”

— Jill Donnelly, owner.
